Berlin (iwr-pressedienst) – The ‘Meeting of the Inspection Bodies – TdI’ working group in the FGW e.V. Operations and Maintenance Technical Committee has set itself the goal of assessing and ensuring the technical reliability of decentralised energy generation plants. The working group thus makes an important contribution to maintaining electrical supply security and reliability, also in the course of the ongoing energy transition.
As accredited inspection bodies in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17020, the members of the working group guarantee impartial and high-quality conformity assessments for all tests in the field of decentralised energy. The high quality of the assessments is maintained through regular professional dialogue within the working group.
At the working group’s kick-off event in February 2024, the structure and focus of the new committee were determined and the work content and objectives defined. In addition, the working group participates in technical and regulatory decision-making processes, develops statements and proposals and works on the concretisation of standards and guidelines. The addressees include manufacturers and operators of technical systems as well as insurance companies, authorities and government agencies and legislators. The working group also actively contributes to the further development of inspection and testing procedures at national and international level and works closely with accreditation, standardisation committees and relevant stakeholder groups.
