FGW e. V. has made ZEREZ available for mandatory use for grid connection since 1 February 2025

Berlin (iwr-pressedienst) – Since 1 February 2025, the central register ZEREZ (www.zerez.net) has offered all users the opportunity to centrally manage and retrieve unit and component certificates for all voltage levels. These are provided free of charge and enable efficient digital communication between all parties involved, such as manufacturers, certification bodies, grid operators and planners.

Unit certificates are managed centrally in ZEREZ. A customised data interface enables network operators to process all available certificates easily and efficiently. Centralisation simplifies and speeds up the processes of certifying units and components as well as applications for operating licences.

From 1 February 2025, grid operators and manufacturers of units or components for electrical generation systems will be obliged to use ZEREZ. For new grid connections, the ZEREZ ID will suffice as proof to the grid operator that a unit or component is ready for connection. From now on, applicants in the operating licence procedure will only have to submit the ZEREZ ID instead of complete certificates.

Operators of existing installations do not have to provide any additional information in the ZEREZ register. Nor do existing installations have to be registered in the ZEREZ in addition to the MaStR (Marktstammdatenregister).

Access to the ZEREZ ID is also possible without registration. Planners and installers can already use ZEREZ without registration.
